OOC: 40 things weee
AS DEMANDED from me by
tricksy_spy:
1. Kerrigan's middle name is Louise.
2. Arcturus Mengsk believes that Kerrigan's greatest weak spot is her need for approval. Kerrigan just wishes people wouldn't be afraid of her. Until Fandom, Kerrigan never even considered the idea of a future that didn't involve being Mengsk's right hand; the only alternative she'd ever known was nothing she'd ever want to return to.
3. The man who was responsible for Kerrigan's preliminary Ghost training and testing was called Rumm; he tortured her mentally and emotionally to get the results he wanted. When she broke out, she tracked him down and murdered him horribly and messily in revenge.
4. Kissing Roy Mustang was the first time she really acted on being attracted to anyone; it made her decide she'd do the same for Jimmy, after they beat the Protoss.
5. Part of the reason Kerrigan drinks so much coffee is because it reminds her of Jimmy.
6. Kerrigan credits Michael Liberty almost entirely for her current ability to relate to other human beings. He taught her to look beyond the duplicity and just see the people instead.
7. She'll never admit it, but besides River, Kerrigan kind of considers Lee Adama her kid, too.
8. She actually doesn't really mind it when people call her Sarah. It just has to be the right people. She's glad Roy does.
9. Kerrigan is most terrified of the idea that if she stays in Fandom too long, she'll stop caring about Koprulu. She just makes it about Mengsk because most of her life has been about Mengsk.
10. Kerrigan really loves Jimmy Raynor. It'll be many years before she'll be able to get involved with anyone without feeling vaguely weird about it.
11. That being said, it took her a long time and the interference of Michael Liberty to see Raynor as anything other than a jackass and a pig.
12. Kerrigan accidentally killed her mother when she was eight years old. She also rendered her father mostly catatonic. That's when they took her.
13. Kerrigan really, really hates Renee Montoya's guts. She'll say it's because Montoya is narrowminded, but there's a good chunk of her own insecurity about her inhumanity in there, too.
14. She also dislikes Aly, but for the regular reasons-- the difference between talk and thought makes her head hurt like a bitch.
15. Kerrigan would probably kill people for Lee and River. Roy, maybe.
16. She isn't anyone's goddamn martyr.
17. Being a Confederate Ghost, she says, is a lot like ripping at the seams of insanity while the very things that keep you from spinning out of control feel like prison bars. Ghosts get the worst end of the stick. That, if nothing else, is why she owes Mengsk.
18. Kerrigan smokes, but only once in a blue moon. It's mostly to calm her nerves and to make her feel like a soldier again.
19. She's a good soldier, dammit. She'll repeat that a thousand times if she has to.
20. She doesn't honestly believe she'll finish her syllabus one day. She's just too stubborn to let it go.
21. Kerrigan would've slept with Roy if it hadn't been for Aly. She still doesn't know if that hypothetical would've been a good idea, or if the current situation isn't really the right way to go.
22. She'll go home when River graduates. They need her. Nothing anyone can say, nothing anyone can make her think, will ever make her decide otherwise. It's just who she is.
23. Kerrigan likes Bond, even if the ginormous discrepancy between his thoughts and his words give her a headache of truly spectacular proportions. The repression is welcome.
24. Deadpool, on the other hand, lies somewhere between 'completely if entertainingly crazy' and 'a real potential threat'. She may have run a few drills in an attempt to figure out how to take him out if she has to.
25. If it was up to her, she'd infiltrate and blow up S.P.D.
26. Ares still troubles her. She's not comfortable admitting why.
27. If given the choice, Kerrigan would've picked anything but being a teep/teek. Since she wasn't, though, she thinks anyone who poses the question is a nitwit.
28. Talking to Anakin Skywalker makes her feel a little less alone. She thinks it's stupid, so she avoids it.
29. Secretly, if she had her way, she'd cross the stars with Lee and River and have a lot of adventures; but that's the kind of talk only children indulge in, and she hasn't been a kid since she was eight.
30. She actually doesn't like guns that much. She's better at knives. With a knife, Kerrigan is unstoppable.
31. Kerrigan'll never be able to think of waffles again.
32. Her Ghost number is 24. It's still burned into her arm.
33. Kerrigan was one of the three Ghosts that killed Arcturus Mengsk's father. She watched while Mengsk killed the others.
34. There are very few things Kerrigan regrets more than not leaving Edmund Duke to die back on Antiga Prime.
35. Except for calling the Zerg down on Antiga. Nothing's ever going to beat that.
36. She knows, on some level, that her time with Mengsk won't go much further. She just refuses to believe it because she has to believe in him. Because he was the only one who believed in her.
37. The first person Kerrigan ever fell in love with was a Fringe Worlder called Somo Hung. She loved him because he was genuine, and good, and brought hope. He was killed by Rumm, but short moments before she could kill the man.
38. Kerrigan's both smarter and more naive than she likes to make people believe she is. Especially in Fandom, she rarely tells people who she really knows they are like she used to, back home.
39. Kerrigan hates the Zerg more than anything. Most of all because she's terrified of the fact she can hear them. And control them.
40. She hates politicians. Their talk never matches up with their thought. Ever. And when it does, it's never good.
