Office Hours, Tuesday

It was completely and utterly Roy's fault, and Kerrigan was going to firmly stick to that idea. Because really, the concept was absolutely ridiculous--

--but kind of fun.

She blew some air into one cheek before trying to storm the castle again. Damn Flash games.

River appeared in the doorway, letting out a giggle as she noticed what Kerrigan was doing. Then she entered the room, heading directly for the coffee.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 10:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Help yourself," Kerrigan hummed from behind the computer. Why were her soldiers being deterred by an inability to march down a ramp?

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 10:46 am (UTC)(link)
River made two cups and placed one in front of Kerrigan. She then sat down in her usual chair, quietly sipping her coffee.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 10:48 am (UTC)(link)
The game suddenly made a noise. Kerrigan let her head drop to the screen. "You know," she said, conversationally, "This makes absolutely no sense at all." She leant sideways a little, curving her hand around the shape of the cup.

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 10:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Does it have to?" River asked, leaning forward to rest her elbows on the table.

[lunch now!]

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 11:09 am (UTC)(link)
"It would help," Kerrigan muttered, testiness in her voice, before pulling the cup towards her and taking a sip.

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:00 pm (UTC)(link)
River chuckled down into her own cup. "Bought a new dress for dancing yesterday."

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:19 pm (UTC)(link)
At some stage in the early afternoon Liz briefly left her shift at the Post Office to hand in the report that she had completed. She quietly knocked on Kerrigan's door.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Kerrigan glanced away from her computer. What was it with those damn resource gatherers? "Come in," she called.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"You going to the ball thing, right?" She shot River something that probably would've been a smile. Somewhere.

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's dancing," River replied. "The dress is blue. Will you be there?"

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yep," Kerrigan said, and the smile finally folded into the wry smirk it had kind of wanted to be. "Can't escape it this time, I'm afraid."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Her reply clearly pleased River, who beamed at her. "You can watch me dance," she said, not mentioning any attempts to persuade Kerrigan to join her.

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Liz entered the office, "I have my report written Lieutenant," she said quietly.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"As long as I don't have to talk to anyone, I'll be good," Kerrigan returned, sipping her coffee with some amusement.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Good." Kerrigan sat back. "Hand it over, and I'll evaluate if you need to do any more work." She was kinda getting the hang of this teacher thing.

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Dancing doesn't require talking with words," River replied teasingly.

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Liz nodded and handed over the report.

[ooc: mun's heading to bed now, I'll be back early evening EST]

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Kerrigan held up a finger. "Any. Talking," she said.

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Another giggle into her coffee cup caused River to spill coffee over her dress.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Kerrigan took it with a faint look at Liz before shifting her attention down to read it, flicking from page to page and making notes. "So you got into this how...?" she asked, just for confirmation, halfway into reading.

[ kk! catch you when you get back ]

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
The instant it happened, Kerrigan's hand was in one of the drawers of her desk, fast, and she pulled out a box of tissues, eyeing River with concerned eyes. "Careful."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"No danger." River wiped the front of her dress that now needed cleaning. She put the cup on the desk and looked up at Kerrigan. "Talked to Bob. He didn't know much."

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"Anything to help you out with this?" Kerrigan relaxed. Slightly.

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Need to find someone who knows more. In my 'verse." She stirred the coffee with her finger. "Bob didn't need to know. A weapon, a tool." She paused. "He wanted me to come and talk to him again."

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
And, oh, look. That sense of relaxation flew right out the window again. Kerrigan sat up. "Why?"

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Claims to think he can learn something from me," River replied uneasily.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, that's a given." Kerrigan may have had some bias, there, but she didn't care. "Think he's being honest?"

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Hesitating a little, River then said: "I think he believes he's being honest."

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"..." Kerrigan rubbed her forehead with two fingers. "It's not the same thing."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"I know." River looked at Kerrigan, her eyes asking for advice.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"...Be careful. Don't get sucked in." She rubbed at her forehead some more.

[ zomg, sorry, notifications are messing up big on me today ]

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
She gave a small nod. "Won't." Then a smile. "Have to mention blonde wigs though."

[No worries!]

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
She smiled back. Worriedly. "Yeah, you do," Kerrigan managed. "Seriously. Call me if it gets hairy. On cell if you have to."

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2008-02-12 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"One of my friends needed help," she said quietly.

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 08:13 am (UTC)(link)
Another nod. "Won't take risks," River replied, then smiled warmly at Kerrigan.
