25 Unicorn Street, Saturday Morning

The house was steadily becoming emptier. It hadn't been very full to begin with, but as she slowly pawned off, packed, or otherwise removed the few belongings that had been around, it was...

It seemed to be getting bigger.

Now, Kerrigan sat quietly on the couch, Mustang-the-kitten making a home of her lap, and stared at the wall.

"I'll be back. I won't leave you to look after her yourself." Harriet took a longer sip of her tea, almost a gulp, the extra a welcome warmth. "If you could find out exactly how this came to pass, it would be appreciated."

Kerrigan rubbed at her face with one hand, closing her eyes. "Sure," she said, "One not-an-interrogation, coming up right ahead."

Harriet drained her tea and went to put the empty cup in the kitchen. As she walked back, she hesitated, then dropped her hand briefly on Kerrigan's shoulder. "I need to go and see what we're dealing with, whether it's simply her, or if the island is now awash in children."
