25 Unicorn Street, Early Friday Afternoon

After last night, Sarah Kerrigan knew it was right about time to reprioritize the details of her little home improvement adventure; the level of break-ins was staggering for an island of this size (she realised the irony of her presence in the house, but had no need of it). The moment permissibly modded Deadpool had left the house, she began work on an early warning system.

There were no missiles involved, and the house was starting to look a little empty (besides the ball pit) for all the retooling (read: stripping of items) she was doing, but safety measures came first.

Somewhere during the morning, Roy remembered his promise of helping Kerrigan get rid of the ball pit. Once the paperwork was under control - or better put, once it was working on his nerve so much that he really did need a break - he made his way to Unicorn Street.

Strangely enough, he actually knocked on the door this time.

Kerrigan glanced up when she heard the knocking. Well. That was a first.

She stuffed the wiring she was working on out of sight, wiped her hands on her pants and walked to the front door. Ah. The Sheriff. She opened it, smirking faintly. "I'd started to think knocking was against the local religion," she remarked.

"I don't believe in any god so maybe that helps?" he offered with a slight smirk. "I see Deadpool hasn't tried kicking you out."

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"It usually does," she said, opening the door a little more and stepping out of the way so Roy could enter. "He was here last night," Kerrigan said, "But he's gone now. Drank all my beer."

[identity profile] light-a-spark.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"I am unsurprised," Roy replied, his opinion of Deadpool still not very high. He stepped inside the hall, waiting for Kerrigan to lead the way. "How has the redecorating been going?"

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Everything's been going well except for the ball pit," Kerrigan said, stalking into the living room. "I'm not really interested in spending the contents of my bank account on boxes alone."

[identity profile] light-a-spark.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"I would have dropped by sooner, but I'm afraid I got called away for a bit," Roy explained as he followed Kerrigan into the living room, managing to not let his annoyance over the entire thing show. "But perhaps that has given you time to come up with something you might want me to turn those balls in to?"

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm really disappointed, Sheriff," Kerrigan said, smirk returning to her lips. "I thought you were a little more punctual."

She stopped by the side of the ball pit. "I think creativity failed me," she said. "Alchemy's not my strong point." The side of her mouth quirked a little more.

[identity profile] light-a-spark.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Roy gave her an amused look. "It might have to do with the fact that you didn't believe me when I first told you about it," he replied, not sounding bothered at all. He leaned down, picking up one of the balls again and studied it for an instant, determining its make up.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"That may have been a factor," she grinned. "But, hey. Here's your chance to show off."

[identity profile] light-a-spark.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
He met her eyes for an instant and smirked. "I know far better ways to show off," he informed her before tossing the ball back on the heap.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's what they all say," Kerrigan smirked at him, "And rarely manage." She paced around the ball pit.

[identity profile] light-a-spark.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"I never fail," Roy assured her and he tossed the ball back on top of the pit. Reaching into his pocket, he drew out a piece of chalk and he squatted down to start drawing a transmutation circle on the ground.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sure." She took a few steps back, just to be certain. "Nothing's going to blow up, right?"

[identity profile] light-a-spark.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"I need my gloves for that," he said simply and finished the circle. He pondered what exactly to turn the heap of balls in to until he got an idea. He reached out, placing both hands so he touched the circle and instantly a bright blue light moved across the floor and enveloped the balls. When it died down again, the pit was vanished and there was a huge tarp covering the floor. Actually, on a closer look it might have turned out to be an inflatable swimming pool.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
From Kerrigan's corner of the room, there may have been a low whistle. "Okay," she said, "That may have been mildly impressive."

She paused.

"...Swimming pool?"

[identity profile] light-a-spark.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
And Roy could do a lot more than that.

He smirked and straightened up, shrugging a little as he gave Kerrigan a mischievous look. "Seemed like a nice addition to the house. Especially in this weather."

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Even without the telepathy, she wouldn't have bought that for a minute. "Uh huh," Kerrigan said, raising an eyebrow. "I bet it will be. Thanks, Sheriff." Okay, just a hint of amusement, there.

[identity profile] light-a-spark.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
He grinned, seemingly confident that he wasn't about to get killed or maimed in any way for the pool. "You're welcome, Lieutenant," he said. "If there's anything else I can help with?"

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'd ask for help with the couch," Kerrigan said, cocking her head to the side, "But somehow I'm afraid of what I'd end up with."

[identity profile] light-a-spark.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Roy chuckled. "What's wrong with it?"

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
She shot Roy a dry look. "You turned my ball pit into an inflatable swimming pool."

[identity profile] light-a-spark.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"If you'd rather I turn it back..." he shrugged.

[identity profile] on-her-korhal.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
She looked at him as if seriously considering it for a moment. "No," Kerrigan finally decided. "And I was kidding about the couch. Except that Deadpool got beer stains all over it, but I can live with that."

[identity profile] light-a-spark.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'd suggest making him pay for a new one," Roy said, "but then it's probably his couch so I don't think it quite works."
