25 Unicorn Street, Tuesday Evening

Her fridge had been stocked up well enough, but Kerrigan had still found herself chowing back noodles more often than not over the past few days. Cooking just wasn't her strong suit, and she lacked the inclination to learn.

Christmas Eve had passed by unnoticed.

She was in the living room, running system checks on her armor and fiddling with the wires.

[ open to anyone who'd come bug kerrigan on christmas day; early due to sp later yay ]

"There's that," Kerrigan allowed, shooting River a mildly self-depreciating grin. "Probably better food, too."

Nodding, River looked at the oven. "Ready now," she said.

"Let's see if it's edible," Kerrigan posited, smiling at River.

Hey, she was a soldier. Edible was all she cared about. She moved to switch off the oven.

"Contains most vitamins and minerals needed, as well as protein," River replied, letting Kerrigan get the dish out of the oven.

"If you say so," she replied, dragging out the dish with improvised oven mitts. Kerrigan moved out of the kitchen, into the hallway and then into the living room.

She still didn't have a table.

River made no comment on the lack of a table, not even a small mental one. Instead she sat down crosslegged on the floor, looking up at Kerrigan expectantly.

Kerrigan put the dish down on the floor. So what if it burned through the carpet? She could get another carpet.

That's why she had Roy, really.

"Let's hope it digests," she said, smirking a little, before flopping down on the floor opposite River.

River picked up a fork and dug into the food directly from the oven dish, a wide smile on her face. Christmas dinner with Kerrigan.

Kerrigan eyed her for a moment. Possibly to look for any signs of indigestion.

Finding none, she carefully stabbed something foodlike, putting it in her mouth.

It wasn't a gourmet dish, but she wouldn't have been able to tell anyway. "Good," she decided, happily.

River nodded. "The symptoms of food poisoning takes a few hours to appear though," she said cheerfully.
