She had a couch. And a record player. And--

A birthday party, apparently. Maybe. She wasn't sure.

He snorted and batted her hand away. "It turned out alright."

"Yeah, because I saved said dumb ass. Good work, Corporal."

He made a face at her. "There were students to watch out for in the past," he defended himself. And two adults.

She was quickly running through her entire pletora of skeptically amused looks. "So you planned it?"

"Exactly," he nodded gravely. Also, he was lying.

She just rolled her eyes. "Some of us have that kind of foresight."

"And you're very grateful that I am one of those?" he teased.

"I'm very grateful for your sake I am one of those," she retorted.

He laughed. "Point," he grinned at her. "Thanks for having our ass."

"You're welcome," she snorted; it broke into a grin. "It would be a sadder island without that stupid behind."

He smirked. "So you do like my ass?"

"How else am I gonna light fires in my backyard?" she replied, dryly.

He laughed. "Not with my ass, I hope."

"I don't know. How well does it do alchemy?" She cocked her head. "'Cause maybe I'll just take the ass and spare the trouble of dealing with your ego."

Roy made a face at her. "You're out of luck then."

"I don't know," she grinned, "Ever tried drawing one of your fancy circles on there?"

"No, and I'm not about to start to," he eyed her. "And early birthday party or not, I don't think you are either."

"Lighten up," she snorted, shooting him another grin. "It's a party. I'll save it for the next time you go out and touch deadly aliens with time travel capabilities."

Roy smirked. "It's not a party until there's dancing."

"I've danced with you once. I'm not doing it again." She eyed him. "And you're not asking Adama."

He raised an eyebrow. "River wouldn't mind."

That was-- one thing she didn't really have an argument against. Still-- "No." Kerrigan waved a finger in his face.

"Hence why I could dance with River," he pointed out.
