She of the StarCraft fandom.

Kerrigan has a History at Fandom High.

About three years ago, she, then still a lieutenant in a terrorist group set on uprooting the human government of her sector (in space!) was sent out on a reconnaisance mission that got her accidentally zapped to another dimension. She met a young telepath named River Tam and a brooding be-daddyissued guy named Lee Adama, was instated as a teacher, and gave tactics lessons. She befriended the local Sheriff, Roy Mustang, and worked hard to find a way home.

When she made it home - Roy in tow by accident - she found out that her boss, Arcturus Mengsk, was not entirely the nice, noble guy she'd always taken him for: not only had he once ordered Kerrigan to lead the murderous Zerg to an inhabited planet, he was now repeating the same act on the very human capital of the sector. She fled on home and promised to stay on as a teacher until River had graduated. She made unlikely friends with then-dean Harriet Jones, and for a time, was comparatively happy.

And then River graduated. Kerrigan went back home. Kerrigan was sent on a mission to defend the New Gettysburg Space Platform - and Kerrigan was left to die at the hands of the Zerg by the leader she had once trusted with her life. But the Zerg didn't kill her, they changed her: assimilated her, going from looking like this to looking like this.

She was rescued by her friends. For several months, she held out. But in the end, she cracked, the Zerg gained full control, and she stole River away and had her similarily infected. For a time, she was at the Zerg Overmind's beck and call, but when it was killed, she saw her chance. Rather than wait for any of the other Zerg Overminds to take control and become an Overmind, she rose up on her own, made her own Zerg army, and manipulated every faction in her galaxy until she became the unquestionable ruler of the Zerg, the heart of the Swarm.

As of this weekend, there is no army capable of questioning her reign.

History lesson over. She's done conquering the Koprulu Sector. There is another threat on the horizon she needs to prepare for. The Zerg have retreated into obscurity because of it, leaving the sector to rebuild. And Kerrigan goes back to Fandom, to recharge and to research, while River oversees the Zerg leadership back home.

PERSONALITY

Kerrigan is half-Zerg and half-human: she used to be a surly, snarky military mind, now she is both that and something more distant, more alien. She's had to deal with a lot of betrayals in her life and a lot of different masters, and she's sick of both; as such, she's now more than willing to manipulate her way into getting what she wants.

She's going to be playing up the same poor, lost-my-mind-but-now-I'm-back Atoner image she used to get her way back in Koprulu. She's going to show more signs of the woman she once was. Maybe she'll become more human because of it, but only time will tell.

Anyway, most of the above is extraneous information.

POWERS

Kerrigan used to be a pretty powerful telepath, with a slight talent for telekinesis. As a Zerg, with her implants mostly destroyed and all of the safeguards that had once been placed on her mind, she's an incredibly powerful telepath with the ability to rend flesh with her telekinesis.

Of course, the old Kerrigan also couldn't shield, whereas the new Kerrigan is rather better at keeping other people's thoughts out if she wants. Which makes it both harder and easier for me in terms of working out how to swing IC/OOC consent lines, but that's what these posts are for.

So! Let me know if she can peek in your brain or not, and if it falls at a halfway point, how things would work. I'll check OOC if I'm not sure and we're in a thread, otherwise, but it's always helpful to know beforehand.

Also, book!Kerrigan has the ability to shift between forms, human or Zerg. She'll be spending most of her time in Fandom looking human-shaped, but her true form is still the Zerg one. If your character can tell? Lemme know! I'll be using my icons well to reflect what she looks like at the time.

CLASS

Kerrigan also has a History with being oppressed, what with being born a telepath who was abused by the government and then summarily used as a tool by the man she thought was there to free her, and the alien creature that then 'liberated' her from him. Classes will probably be a mixture of history, practical exercises, and Kerrigan ranting off about how much people Suck in her own fashion.

Also, she's still looking for TAs, if there's anyone who wants a spot (send me a mail if so). Alumni get preference! (Please check under the cut for details on Kerrigan's telepathy, whee)

The rest, in bullet points: John Mitchell and Cable.

MITCHELL ([livejournal.com profile] chose_humanity):
- hails from the series 'Being Human'.
- is a vampire. Has extra strength, extra durability, enhanced senses. Does not reflect in mirrored surfaces, does not burst into flames in the sun, but does prefer to wear sunglasses when out. Does not need blood, but does have an intense psychological craving for it.
- speaking of which, is on the wagon. As in: trying not to eat people. He occasionally has a tough time of it, especially if he's... you know, otherwise aroused. So he tends to avoid Relations. His eyes go black if he feels bloodlust.
- was turned during the First World War. Is Irish. Sounds like it.
- was an extra in 'Casablanca'.
- spends his time going between his fandom house and his house in Bristol, England, where he lives with his bffs, the werewolf George and the ghost Annie.
- is being stalked by an ex he turned mid-sex, Lauren. Oops.
- is usually a massive dork who comes off as an ordinary 20-something unless you catch him in philosophical vampire mode.
- loves people kind of a lot, in all shapes and sizes, and is just as likely to make BFFs with a twelve-year-old kid as a 90-year-old who served in WWII. Might not have the best sense of boundaries, but he means well. This is gonna wind up biting him in the ass.
- wears celtic rings and fingerless gloves on his hands. Pretty much all the time.

CABLE ([livejournal.com profile] spring_lost):
- hails from Marvel Comics, but was taken from directly after his 'death' in Cable & Deadpool.
- is the mayor
- is 6'7'', with a metal arm and a glowy eye and a scarred face and lots and lots of muscle. This tends to leave an impression.
- used to have his own utopian island called Providence. It didn't work out.
- so instead he stole a baby. It's okay, though. She's going to grow up to be the Messiah.
- lives with baby-now-toddler Jan, his dog Tether, his partner Deadpool, and Deadpool's fox Max in the apartment above Wellspring Arms.
- owns Wellspring Arms. Has very particular weapons policies, being 'you only get any if I or Price are sure you can handle using them'. (OOCly, however, you're always welcome to toss me a ping to figure it out if you need something from the island)
- his hair is full of secrets. As is the rest of him.
- was born in the past, grew up in a post-apocalyptic future, and got sent back to the present. Oh, and his parents are a clone of Jean Grey and Scott Summers. Clearly, this could only go well.
- has the potential to be one of the most powerful telepaths and telekinetics ever, but being at his full potential drains him until he's dead. Ergo, he isn't, and that's a Good Thing.
- the metal arm is actually a techno-organic creature sculpted to his body to replace the techno-organic mesh a virus left behind in him (it was blasted off by the Silver Surfer. The more you know).
- has dabbled in being something of a Messianic figure. Blame the Askani religion he was raised on.
