Kerrigan was in her office mostly for show purposes. She was trying to put a direct line in with River. While she was fairly sure that Zeratul's detour to Fandom and his exit across the Causeway had bought them some time, and hopefully thrown the Protoss off course, his interest in what was going on on Ulaan was... troubling.

She needed a foothold. In fact, she might need to go and take another look herself...

From the outside, through the open door, she looked like she was zoning out with the radio on, blaring some old 70s rock tunes. Reality was a more complex matter.

After that morning's meeting, Kerrigan was ... pensive.

She knew the rites of Parents' Weekend well enough to know she should be in her office for most of the weekend, and it was as good a place as any to be. Especially if she wanted to place a call to River later, and ensure that all the Protoss sacred sites they'd been in the process of... acquiring had enough brood to stop Zeratul if, for some reason, he found his way back to Koprulu.

Still, her human form felt like it fit her badly right now. She itched to send the extra human emotions back to the hell they'd come from. Itched for a fight.

But. Office hours.

The only way anyone could possibly tell what was on her mind was the incessant ticking of her pen against her desk.

Kerrigan could have let the little Protoss wait forever; it would've been hilarious, if nothing else. But... she also supposed he could become a problem in the long run, especially if he was planning to get in her way in the future.

So early on into the Saturday morning, she clambered up into the Rocky Bits, following her senses. There was an outcropping there, somewhere, with something that at least rudimentarily resembled a cave.

Yes, a cave. The Protoss were so horribly predictable.

[[ for me, myself and I! details of the conversation/fight = NFB, okay FB that Kerrigan met an old 'friend' in the rocky bits. thread contains minor spoilers for StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty ]]

Oh, Kerrigan had felt that annoying Protoss presence slipping onto the island that morning. No, it wasn't that she wasn't aware.

It was that she didn't care. Not yet. Not unless the Dark Templar was planning to show up and ruin her office hours, when she ran the risk of dealing with some very interesting guests. It'd be typical, mind, but she was in no mood to tolerate self-righteous blathering and waving around of psi-blades.

Her office was spartan. Her bearing was calm. The Queen of Blades was ready to face any horrors Parents' Weekend would try to throw at her -- and their little warrior, too.

Kerrigan's office was almost entirely glitter-free.

It was also friend- or relative-free, something she was grateful for in some cases and mildly depressed about in others.

However, there was a chance other people's friends and relatives might show up, so she stocked up on painkillers and coffee and settled in for the long haul.
