Kerrigan was... antsy.

She still had a birthday party (birthday party, seriously) to plan for... somewhere in the coming week. Or the week after. Or...

... Before graduation.

There was still leftover adrenaline pumping something, she was sure-- or maybe it was just the memories. Whatever it was, last week's mission was slipping her back into a certain kind of mindset...

She stared longingly at the calendar.

The smile returned. "I can improvise," River offered cheerfully.

"Improvise your heart away," Kerrigan replied, dryly, and leaned back in her chair.

"And as it's a party I will dance," she continued, her mind starting to make plans for the event.

"Lee's coming," Kerrigan said-- her tone vaguely apologetic. "Play nice?"

She hesitated. "I will. If he does." She didn't hold back the feelings that Lee always seemed to blame her for the arguments while failing to see that he wasn't completely innocent himself. "It should be a good party."

She nodded. "Good," and leaned forward again. "I should call Roy." It had been his idea, after all.

River nodded. "He might dance too," she said. "Anyone else?"

"Bond doesn't really seem like the birthday type," Kerrigan replied, raising an eyebrow in amusement at the idea.

"Don't know him," River said. "I'll bring a cake.

"Teaches Driver's Ed?" Pause. "Possibly plotting harm to students at any particular point in time?"

"Really? Should I beat him up?" That last suggestion might not have been completely serious.

"He's faculty," she said, shooting her a look. It took a moment for the smirk to break through. "Probably not a good idea with the school administration."

The smirk was returned. "Might be set up as an accident. He will never know what hit him."

"Dunno," Kerrigan said, with another slight shrug of her shoulders, "He seems to be used to a lot."

"Figures." River balanced her mug on her fingertips.
