She had some food in the fridge. And drinks. Non-alcoholic drinks.

So.

She had a couch. And a record player. And--

A birthday party, apparently. Maybe. She wasn't sure.

"I know."

In more ways than he was probably aware of. Sometimes it was hard to stay angry with the constant buzzing in her head. "Guess what. I helped, too." She sounded more amused than anything else.

"Where'd you go?" Lee asked curiously. "Who'd you beat up?"

"Dean Jones' London." Another sip of her insanely fizzy drink. "A couple of people." She grinned.

"Beat them up good?" Lee asked, grinning back. "Are they still walking?"

"They weren't after I was through with them," she said, with a smirk-- "But Dean Jones said no casualties."

"Nice job," Lee said and meant it. "How was London? I don't know where that is."

"Me neither," she admitted, "It was a little lo-tech."

"Africa was sandy," he told her. "Sandy and hot and the sun was huge."

"London was mostly cold and wet," Kerrigan returned, "Lot of back alleys. Kind of reminded me of what Korhal must've been like."

"Is it not like that now?" Lee wondered.

"They bombed it to the ground, so I'm figuring not," she said, dryly.

"Sorry," Lee said sheepishly. "Didn't know. Caprica's a lot like Africa except there's more...people, I guess. Buildings and schools. It's not spread out."

"Africa doesn't read like it's got a lot of cities to begin with," Kerrigan replied, sipping her drink thoughtfully.

In as much as one could look thoughtful while drinking something neon blue. "Caprica sounds more like Tarsonis."

"Yeah?" Lee took a sip of his own drink. "Have you ever been to Tarsonis?"

She hesitated. "...During Christmas break." Or whatever the hell that holiday was called.

"Not a good break?" Lee asked, noticing the hesitation.

"I--" Kerrigan shot him a look. "Don't drink too much of that. You'll get a sugar rush and then who has to scrape you off the ceiling?"

"I don't get sugar rushes," he said, glancing at her. "Nice avoidance tactic."

"Shut up." She pushed away from the counter. "That stuff's pretty much liquid sugar."

"You avoided the question," he said. "I just wanted to point that out to you."

"Consider it pointed out," she muttered, annoyed. "What of it?"

"Why are you avoiding the question?" Lee wondered.

"Because it's none of your business." Her eyes narrowed. "What are you, a detective now?"

"No," he snapped. "I was just curious because, hey, I happen to actually like you and if it upset you, I might be a little concerned. Sorry."

"You're seventeen, Lee." Something in her mind grew resigned-- goddamn concern again-- "You wouldn't understand, and I really hope you'll never have to."
