She had some food in the fridge. And drinks. Non-alcoholic drinks.

So.

She had a couch. And a record player. And--

A birthday party, apparently. Maybe. She wasn't sure.

"And yet the youngest in spirit," she deadpanned, pouring him a glass of solid neon pink and offering it to him with a smirk.

Fine, he would drink the pink thing. He took the glass from her fingers and smirked at her. "You should get yourself some of that too, so we can toast to your birthday."

"It's still technically not for a month," she said, with a roll of her eyes, and shoved the pink bottle back into the fridge.

She came up with some blue, and started rummaging around for a glass.

"So? This whole party is to pretend that it is sooner, right?" he asked as he sipped from his pink drink. Sweet.

"I don't think the rituals would hold up. Kind of defeat the point." Found her old glass, and poured it back with another straight helping of blue neon.

"Why's that?" he asked, not quite seeing her objections.

"Well, you know..." Kerrigan picked up her glass. "...Birthdays." She shrugged her shoulder. "You know?"

"Mmmmmm, I suppose I do," he agreed as he leaned against the counter. He had been the one not to mention it was his birthday when she visited him after all. "Judging by the fact that I'm standing here, I'm going to assume that everything went alright last week?"

"The dean and I knocked some sense in a few politicians until they coughed up what we needed," she said, with a faint smile. "I see you and your ego made it back in one piece."

"Knocking sense into politicians is always fun," he grinned. "My ego is time travel resilient."

"I can tell." She grinned back-- a little cocky. "Got to beat up the dean's weasely former assistant. Piece of cake."

"He probably didn't know what hit him," Roy chuckled and took another sip from his drink. It was still pink.

"That's what happens when you're a dumbass and get yourself stuck in the past, Roy," she smirked, sloshing back some blue neon soda. "I get to have all the fun."

He frowned at her. "I wasn't a dumbass," he argued.

"I bet the angels got you as you were peacefully reading in your apartment." She shot him an amused look.

Hey, it was over, now. Time to laugh it off.

"More like going to grab dinner," he told her. And okay, maybe touching it hadn't been the best idea.

"No," Kerrigan said. And this smirk was entirely dedicated to the fact of being proven right. "It really wasn't."

"If it was stone I could have easily transmuted it and the problem would have been fixed," Roy replied instantly.

She flicked at his forehead. "Dumb. Ass."

He snorted and batted her hand away. "It turned out alright."

"Yeah, because I saved said dumb ass. Good work, Corporal."

He made a face at her. "There were students to watch out for in the past," he defended himself. And two adults.

She was quickly running through her entire pletora of skeptically amused looks. "So you planned it?"

"Exactly," he nodded gravely. Also, he was lying.

She just rolled her eyes. "Some of us have that kind of foresight."
