Kerrigan's Office, Wednesday

Her mood had gone from bad to truly atrocious over the weekend. She didn't know why, but she'd stopped asking the question anyway. That morning found Kerrigan dumping the watercooker and the instant coffee in the trash before she'd even as much as strode into the office.

With an annoyed grunt, she flopped down on the seat.

Two minutes later, she was digging the cooker out of the trash again. Maybe River'd come by.

"Exactly how?" Yes, she was curious, and with Kerrigan she had to ask. She stirred her coffee with her finger.

Kerrigan's next look was downright amused. "I think I was a little threatening," she said, with a snort. "But I did warn him about the fight."

"You did?" Now River looked amused.

"I did. Hey, he looked like he'd topple if you breathed on him funny."

"You're such a caring person." River smiled and sipped her coffee.

"I know," she snorted, sinking back in her chair. "I hope you two have fun."

"Should have. He offered suggestions for blowing up the Academy," River said. "I brought cookies." She placed a bag on the desk.

She rubbed the side of her head. "He teaches explosives, doesn't he?" Kerrigan asked, offering the bag a casual glance.

"He always liked explosives," River said and helped herself to a cookies.

"So I take it he gave you some good advice?"

She nodded and took another sip of coffee. "And didn't ask unnecessary questions."
