25 Unicorn Street, Tuesday Evening

Her fridge had been stocked up well enough, but Kerrigan had still found herself chowing back noodles more often than not over the past few days. Cooking just wasn't her strong suit, and she lacked the inclination to learn.

Christmas Eve had passed by unnoticed.

She was in the living room, running system checks on her armor and fiddling with the wires.

She offered him the stem of the spoon. "Don't even try it."

"Awww, Lieutenant. I've got to hone my spoon fighting skills," he teased, taking the spoon back.

"I'm better than you," she informed him, taking another scoop. "Beat you in spoon fighting any day, Sheriff."

He laughed. "Not if you don't even try to fight me." He apparently lost all his senses tonight.

"Why try when I know I can win?" She shot him an amused look.

"Because it's fun?" he teased, deciding to be good for just another moment as he took another spoonful of ice cream.

"You're not even halfway acquainted with maturity, are you?" she snickered, following his example.

"When I need to be," he smirked. Which apparently wasn't tonight.

That got him a smile. A smile with a level of 'duh, idjit' caught within, but a smile none the less.

"No spoon fights," she established, reaching in for more ice cream. "That just sends the pride down the drain."

He raised an eyebrow. "Is there any left considering how I know you like kittens?" he teased. "I wouldn't tell anyone."

"Don't mention the kittens," she said, pausing her spoon halfway. "Do not do that." She could totally hit his hair from here.

Roy smirked, pleased with himself. "Kittens."

Kerrigan was nothing if not liable to follow up on her threats.

Even if part of her mind was currently informing her she was being ridiculously childish.

She flicked ice cream at his hair.

Roy closed his eyes, feeling the cold, stickiness in his hair. "Low blow, Lieutenant," he murmured, then moved quickly before she could stop him to dip his spoon in the tub.

"Hey, you went for kittens."

"Just reminding you," he said easily before he tried to smear some of the ice cream on her cheek.

She grabbed his wrist in pure reflex, telepathy to muscle.

Unfortunately, this didn't prevent the ice cream smudge on her face. Kerrigan narrowed her eyes. "Told you not to try anything," she said, reaching over to ruffle his hair with all due seriousness.

"That's like putting the kitten next to the cream and telling it it can't have any," he teased, wrinkling his nose as the ice cream was melting and sticking to his hair. He was still proud of getting a kitten reference in there.

"What is it with you and kittens?" she asked, dryly, "Seriously."

"Nothing," he said a bit too quickly, trying to pull his hand back. It was all Dee's fault, dammit. "I'm a dog person."

"I'm sure," she replied, and smirked. Even if he hadn't been that fast... "You should apologise to Dee."

"Should not," he argued. "She's already spoiled as it is."

"Since when do you care?" she snickered, letting go of his wrist.

"Just thinking about Aly dealing with her ego," he said quickly and tried to tap her forehead this time.

Instant reflex time again. Back to the wrist-grabbing.

"Yeah, I'm sure she has deep-seated issues with that."
