Another day at the office.

Kerrigan tapped the code in with a sigh, pulled the door open, and went inside. She slammed it shut behind her, leaning against the surface for a few precious seconds before moving into the kitchen to get something to drink.

She should probably get to work on her suit's maintenance program.

Sarah flopped down on the couch and stayed there.

"It's appreciated," he said in a lighter tone, moving his glass to his other hand so he could return the gesture, softly squeezing her shoulder.

She tapped his head with her own for one short, empathizing moment, then pulled back slightly. "Just keep an eye on her. Girl's got issues."

Now he did look amused. "I don't think there's anyone working at the station who comes without issues," he replied and paused, his hand sliding down her back. "On the island actually."

She smirked at him. "Yeah, but most of them don't get into fights for no reason."

"I'm sure she had a reason," Roy said gently. He just needed to figure out what it was.

"Yeah," Kerrigan snorted into her drink, "It's called projection."

He hummed noncommittally because even if there was truth there, she was part of his staff and his responsibility. "It wouldn't have happened if you'd just danced with me," he told Kerrigan.

"Yeah," Kerrigan snorted, "Because dancing would've kept me out of the ladies'."

"It's a possibility," he reasoned. "Or at least changed the timing."

She took another long drink off her whiskey. "Like I don't have enough trouble with..." she gestured vaguely at her head. Her tone was probably a little more bitter than expected.

He nodded, not really blaming her for the tone. "Still doesn't get you out of dancing," he told her, almost as if the words were meant to be reassuring.

"Think it kind of does," she said, leaning back against his shoulder. Just a little. Shut up.

He sighed. "Maybe next time?" he tried, mostly joking. "Instead of getting into fights?" Not that he really expected it, the fact that she had been there had already been a lot.

"I do fights better than dancing," she said.

"This I'm aware of," he agreed. "But I'm better at the dancing thing."

"Bad soldier," she informed him, jokingly. And nudged him with her shoulder.

He snorted, leaning back against the nudging shoulder. "You don't send a sharpshooter into close combat," he pointed out.

"And you don't let a cop take a swing at black ops," she smirked back.

"I'll try to keep it in mind next time," he deadpanned.

"I'm not sure how the women of Fandom would react to you policiing the women's room."

"Just trying to keep the squirrels out of the bathroom," he smirked.

"Doing a horrible job," she informed him, dryly.

"Apparently," Roy frowned. "Those squirrels are a security hazard."

"Let the pirate know," Kerrigan snorted, taking another sip of whiskey as she leaned in slightly. "Or arrest him. He's a pirate."

"So he claims, but he hasn't actually done anything wrong," he paused. "I'm also not sure if squirrels can be arrested."
